The Dance Centre's Discover Dance! series continues its accessible noon performances with a showcase by the Arts Umbrella Dance Company in November.

Taking the stage at lunchtime, this event highlights the artistry of Vancouver’s emerging dancers. Arts Umbrella, a pre-professional repertory ensemble, is known for training many of the city’s most promising young dancers through a program that has propelled alumni into esteemed dance companies across North America and Europe, including Ballet BC, Nederlands Dans Theater, and Ballets Jazz Montréal.

Next month’s program will feature contemporary ballet pieces by Canadian and international choreographers. Audience members are invited to stay for a post-performance talkback with the artists, where they can gain insights into the pre-production process.

Following Arts Umbrella, Discover Dance! will take a brief winter hiatus before resuming in the new year with performances from SHIMAK Vancouver (February 27), Lorita Leung Dance Company (March 27), and Danny Nielsen (April 24).
